Scalability of meth via ephedrine route

How scalable is the meth via ephedrine and H3PO2 before the reaction becomes unstable?
Is it possible to do 2kg batches with very good reflux, any one has any experience?

Oh well with unknown reactions you always start with 20g then scale up slowly slowly.
I wouldn't even do this in a garage.
Dont plan on doing this though, ephedrine is impossible to find.
