everything just feels so soulless now... from architecture to fashion. even the technology, like, does no one else miss this?

tired of corporatism taking over... i miss fun cute things. i used to have a laptop that ran windows 7 and i always loved how dynamic it looked. i even miss 2000s tv, that shit just hit different. does anyone else agree? or do you guys have an era you miss more?

when i was way younger i had a little button phone. on god i didnt rlly know how to use it but i would dig around in the files and play the ringtones just to watch the little spinning disk animation it had. i really miss when tech had some skeuomorphism. technology feels so far removed from the "real world" now. i dont like it.

They cut the rate on the renderers of our simulation. The worst thing that happened was mp3 technology. Throw your stereo in the garbage and get your self a 12" tall Bluetooth speaker. It doesn't matter they sound the same. From the 60's to the 00's hifi audio was my favorite hobby besides drugs guitars cars and girls in no particular order, but some moron totally killed the audiophile movement with compressed digital.. I remember, the year was 1998, I was taking my friend and and a girl to the next county over to get a bag of that special $35/8th mid grade from her Mom's boyfriend. Rolling down the 4 lane in my 88 Ford escort. That's what it said but it was a concert hall in wheels. 2-10's, 2-12's, Polk 6x9s on the back hatch cover. Polk 6.5s separates in the doors, 3 4 channel amps. We're jammin' says Bob Marley rolling through at 80mph. The song ends. " You hear something?" Yeah, I got a dead flat front tire and couldn't even tell at 80 mph. Sounding like a helicopter.😆😆😩

omg ur life literally sounds like a dream im kinda jelly ^^;

i think the thing that rlly stuck the last nail in the coffin of the audiophile movement is the smartphone. before this, each piece of technology had its own purpose. for audio u had radios, speakers, maybe even mp3s, shit like that. now everything is just kind of stuck on one device. its hard to enjoy music when ur distracted with 10000 other things. i guess modern tech fixed some issues like tryna pirate a song and getting a virus. i like free music sites, dont get me wrong (dont get me started about how most are useless without premium tho) but i miss devices being SEPARATE. modern smartphones are a recipe for mental illness, i swear to god.

Do you remember our cell phones in the early 200s? My first touch screen required a stylist to do anything. The Gameboy takes me back! I had the one pictured

i only got a touchscreen by the time they were pretty decent cuz my mom didnt like upgrading tech for no reason. i had a stylus but never had to use it, thank god

btw i dont think phones existed in the 200s lol ^^;

in all seriousness i do kind of miss flip phones and stuff like that. they were easily customizable and had more personality. phones now are all plain rectangles, its so dumb. i get that u can customize with cases but i wish there were more options. i still have a retro phone but i just use it to take cute pics. pictures taken with grainy potato cams just hit different

Yeah mann,all is the truth
Is it the getting old,that looking back in time,old days rule?
Ore would the digitalisation fuck up the experiance of life.
In old days you went out,got drunk with people around you,met girls or what ever you looked out for and phisicly met them.
Not like now,make a first impression bij internet photo,in our chair at home...ALONE!!
And the manipulation of tv,that gives you bite size opinions on how to think ,without thinking and making up your own mind.
Fact,its easy to just folow mainstream opinion,but do you think about your own opinion an deare to come out for it ,and chance to get shot or worse.
Fuck the digital adiction to phones to.free your self,....
But how??

i think part of it is the nostalgia but theres scientific evidence that suggests we shouldnt be getting this much screen time. i dont have any links on hand but just look around, theres proof everywhere. i feel even worse for gen alpha and the "ipad kids." i was kind of an ipad kid in my youth but it wasnt as bad as it is now. yes, technology can be beneficial when used in moderation, but no one wants to put limits on their screentime. we practically live online. i have way more fun when i go out with my friends and shit but i tend to shut myself in bc i dont have motivation and im lowkey a lil mentally ill. being around tech all the time just makes it worse. its a vicious cycle and im trying to get out of it ^^;

A bit mental ill? Or living your own life and a voice in your head to talk to once in a while? Sounds fermilliar (is it you thats in my head thats giving me those late night ideas and solutions😂😂👍)
I think i know what you mean,and me to,and she,but she is asleep now.... I think...😂🤔🤔🤪.
Its just an easy escape from harsh reality,
Life is changing,and i cant keep up,so i let go a long time now,tv is the worst thing of this age,and made it to easy for evil souls to get a lot of people thinking hate is needed,and respect is for pussys.
Makes me sad that people stopped making up there own mind,and started copieing those main stream thoughts.
Your not so ill as you think,because you think and feel like a human

you're absolutely right tbh. i've been online from a very young age but when i was in elementary i did about half my learning from physical books so i might be kind of biased. taking away my electronics never helped me, and if anything, it only hindered both my happiness (not that it was dependent on devices but it just sucked not having that as an OPTION) and my learning. the internet can be an amazing education tool, but there's a lot of brainrot content on there as well. kids just need discernment, and a lot of kids i know don't exactly have that. i know there r smart kids out there like the ones u brought up but i don't know them personally (unless you count myself... i don't mean to sound arrogant but i had an interest in biology, more specifically human biology and various diseases when i was super young. like this was my main interest from 4-8 years old lol...)

and i agree, the government just likes to overdiagnose, exaggerate, and sometimes even make up mental illnesses to push medications. there's a bigger agenda behind this. they want to create mindless, homogenous workers and "keep everyone in line" so to speak. very disheartening. even actual mental illnesses have their advantages. i could be diagnosed with schizophrenia (never got an official diagnosis because i don't want meds but i fit the diagnostic criteria and have been in psychotic episodes that negatively impacted my life. a lot of ppl i know seem to think its drug induced but i showed signs far before i started doing any drugs...) and while it definitely has its drawbacks, it kind of helps my art and writing. it's really expressive and more "raw" i guess. plus sometimes my paranoia feels more like intuition. it's correct about 50% of the time... lol

Okay I figured that phone was earlier. I remember wanting one of those SO bad as a kid. I thought it was the coolest thing to have a phone that you could see the guts without pulling it apart

Each year there are betterments in tools science healthcare inventions narcotics. Because people want to better their lives. The Merging of DNA-optimized humans and robots under a benevolent global(universal) AI is the Endgame in Transhuman SIngularity. I feel little nostalgia of a lesser past which it always is. Still no doomsday since WW2 but be alert of the warmth. The future vision is so much more exciting than the past. I am anti-primitivism and techno nostalgia upheaval. Let's march on to be multi-planetary species with no end.

There are good and bad addiction. The good addiction starts first and most, the bad is gaining mighty though (heavy drugs like MDPV)

i take my phone everywhere i go but i might as well leave it at home bc i dont like using it unless im fully free. people get mad at me bc i leave them on delivered for 5+ hours but like... its not a personal thing. its not that i dont like them, i just have a life outside of my phone and ig thats hard for most ppl to comprehend. yes, today people r more accessible than ever, but ease of access doesnt necessarily mean theyre not busy. its not even like ppl text me about anything important. if its a serious situation u can talk to me in person... im not going to stop whatever im doing to respond to that "funny" video u sent me. fuck off.

i hate this culture of like "oh u have to constantly talk to ur partner/friends." its a very new thing and it doesnt help anyone. relationships worked fine, if not better, before modern smartphones and social media. so many relationships r dysfunctional because people expect their partners to drop everything to text them. u will NOT catch me doing that shit for a man and i dont expect anyone to do that for me. a partner should be a priority but never ur first priority. if someone is unable to respect that then they dont deserve to be in ur life at all
