Hello everyone. New user here.
I am flying to Colombia for 2 months next week and, whilst I'm there, I'd like to set up a small operation to synth a bit of 4mmc whilst I'm there. I was thinking to start with 100g of 2B4MP, or so...

I'm sure I can source the lab equipment, but I'm having a bit of trouble with the precursors... does anyone know a legit lab? Is Wuhan Alpha Omega legit? I know they advertise here, but their operation looks a bit shady.

They have their whatsapps listed there for example. Also, in the "About Us" page, it has "Jack Damon" listed as an "authority in the medical field", but that photos is a bullshit stock photo which a google image search revels to be someone else.

After I was scammed for £400 by Chenhua Chems (wickr: cnbilly) a while back, I'm a bit reluctant to order from these bloody Chinese again! Especially with a red flag like this.

Has anyone used this vendor?
Or can they confirm a suitable vendor?

If not, I might just stick with coke.... but where's the fun in that?

Have you ever actully handled bromoketones before? Stick with buying coke...

Bromoketones are unbelievably powerful irritants if you so much an open a bottle outside of a fume hood you are going to experience what it's like to have columbian chillies rubbed all over you naked body....trust me...

Nope, this will be my first science experiment beyond a simple ReX in IPA and one (admittedly rather ham-fisted) straight to base extraction from mimosa root.

In the meph sythesis video, the guy doesn't have the reaction taking place in a fume cupboard, nor does he appear to be wearing a full hazmat as you're intimating might be required.

I notice in your other comment you mention that most of the 2B4MP sent from China is a scam (for the reason that you have outlined) - are you sure?

My guy, I haven't even landed on site yet... when I settle in next week and reunite with my friend, get a lay of the land (perhaps also a lay of something else)... then I will determine the path forward.

I *only* need a 2/3 neck flask, a separatory funner, and a reflux condenser (the latter of which, looking at the reaction pathway, seems to be unnecessary, as it's only used for venting; no escaping gases need to be trapped and refluxed back into the mixture... right?)
Plus of course the precursor ingredients.

Colombia is a country of 50 million people... are you seriously telling me that the cartel have the entire place dialed in? No ejercito militar, no policia, no alphabet boys operating incognito abroad...?
