Sulfuric acid

Hi friends, i need sulfuric acid and i oppened a car battery and boiled the solution
In one moment had a yellow color but i left more time hotting and it turn black like if its burn.
My question is: the sulfuric acid can burn and turn color? Its able to use for a reaction or is better to throw? Thank all of U sorry of my english

It can't burn, can turn color to orange-yellow on air.
It's hard to answer without at least pictures

go add a lil peroxide wile boiling it to oxidise the carbon and mayby destill ur sulfuric

Ni friend buy i dont destilate, i boil the water to have only the acid
