Question Some questions about Synthesis of anesthetics

I tried to modify caffeine to make it anesthetic, can this reaction work? Has any chemist tried it?

Everything I read says not a snowballs chance in hell. Sodium is not a catalyst its a strong oxidizer reducer, thatnwouldmprobably explodemor at least destroy the entire molecule br² cant be added in this way. Br² alone wouldn't react all all because the aromaticity of caffiene is high and nitrogens stabilize the molecule even more. That's just Speculation
