Hello, I would like to ask about the proportions of Pseudo E / iodine / red phosphorus when synthesizing, say, 7.5g or 15g of pseudoephedrine. In some threads, the proportions are given as 1/1/ ⅓ (pseudo E / iodine / phosphorus), but I have also come across proportions of 1/2/1, etc. Could someone advise what proportions to stick to during the first synthesis? and what to pay special attention to? Thank you for any advice. Best regards

I have come across the same in my learning. It is not something that had to be totally precise, so that is the good thing. I'm still working it out myself but, [ 1 - 1.5 - .66 ] of [ PSE / I2/ RP ]
So it would look something like 15g PSE / 22g I2 / 9g RP and just a little bit of dH2O to initiate the reaction. It is suggested to reflux the mixture at ~75c for 18+ hours.
A good yield will look something like %70 or so of pseudo. If you get 10g of ice at the end, it was a very good cook for your first run.

Thank you for the information. I also came across information that the temperature in the flask should be about 140⁰c...
