Prepare reagents: 1-phenylalanine (D/L) optional 2-Sodium carbonate (sodium hydroxide) optional 3-Dimethyl sulfate (methyl iodide) optional 4-Ammonia (for washing reactants) 5-DMF (used to extract reactants) I know the reagents required, but I don’t know the reaction temperature and molar ratio of the reagents. The process is: 1-phenylalanine undergoes decarboxylation under alkaline conditions, 2-Split the flow to obtain amphetamine 3-Amphetamine is then methylated using dimethyl sulfate 4- Wash with ammonia 5-Extraction with DMF This is some information I found on the Internet. I searched some questions on Google. It should be possible to perform this procedure. Chemists with reagents are welcome to operate the process and publish your results.

I've made, years and years ago DL-Phenylalaninol, and it looked like speed and smelled like good nasty street speed.
If I had done the HI reduction to that, maybe ... I believe that there are good UG chemists here who would know how to do the job easier than described in the Rhodium archives. I think this is a good place to start a proper discussion. At least I'm fascinated by different ideas on how to reduce it to amphetamine by different means.

Hello teacher, may I ask if I can synthesize methamphetamine using sodium borohydride and P2P, and then add hydrogen chloride until the acidic liquid turns black, and then heat and evaporate until it burns! May I ask which stage is incorrect? Teacher, could this be due to using 40% methylamine water? Because I don't know what percentage of my methylamine water is yours!

I have seen some reaction in Rhodium's compilation of amph/meth reduction methods, that in the picture was identical compound to phenylalaninol witch was iodized from the OH-group... hmm if I can find it.. But many with this kind of hobby will tell you have to reflux it maybe a week to get something from it. I think this is just Ok, not doing it, kind of thing. The phenylalaninol someone mentioned is like fake speed.. hhah! I've seen it as precursor to some narcolepsy-like drug. Inactive.

This is one of those youtube shake and bake incomplete instruction myth click bait recipies that people like me and others will find and stumble over trying to understand for years. At BB, all the resources are here so that you can figure out pretty much anything for yourself if you have the initiative. For anyone wondering, starting with phenylalanine would easily take too way many steps for a most likely shitty yield. Anything can be done in theory, it just wouldn't be worth the time or effort when you could just.. go find people to buy pseudo, for example. Or there are dozens of other precursors that are much closer if you were going to work backwards.

I don't want to be rude, but what I told you, was not my thoughts of the phenylalaninol process. It was from Rhodium's Chemistry Archive. And I know that already that you can get around 20% yield with too much work (from some chemistry forum). All I can say, don't under estimate people you do not know. I can make P2P in three days from supplies that I can get from even grocery stores! I have upgraded processes with my own self knowledge from reading and reading books after books. You are really saying that all the resources to make almost anything is in here? Ok. Cool. In here, I've got wrong info, like someone should put water in Leuckart reaction mixture! And that was some of these admins from here! It was tested by Wallach and Ingersoll decades ago. It ruins the whole process. Still I occassionally come here to ask and learn from those who know more than me, and I'm just an amateur, so it got me thinking why to leave errors in Leuckart instructions etc.?

I have 200 g of succinic acid powder that I purchased from chemical company. It can be reduced to GBL with LiAlH4 in THF or diethyl ether. At first I thought that the product will be GHB, and not GBL but I was wrong. It undergoes cyclization. Can you tell me where I can find the whole procedure, or even just instructions like will I have to basify the succinic acid powder so it can accept more readily those H2? And if I should basify it, what base should I use? The succinic acid is just sparingly soluble in the ether, but the product, GBL is soluble. Basifying or not, how I can reduce it to GBL, when the acid is not soluble in solute anyway? Thank you in excitement! Because the process must be in here, isn't it? If it is not, like I think/know maybe, can you give me tips to reduce this dicarboxylic acid with LiAlH4 in diethyl ether?

Why don't you stop being condescending and share some of your amateurishly gathered expertise and help enlighten the rest of us and help DEBUNK these myths and rumors about how to make things and what not.
Instead of hoarding what you know, as if you knew something to begin with, and then coming and taking intellectual innovations from here and turning around and talking shit about how people are wrong or stupid here?

Then you wrap it up asking for help and saying thanks..
