You can just buy some on onyxmet.com

Tom Olszewski is a very trustworthy partner. There's no real sense in synthesizing the acetate yourself.

I don't have that many expenses.
And I like to synthesize substances and make my own.

I just want to ask someone who knows the methods and details. To synthesize nickel acetate using old and obsolete methods.

I found this method and he wrote:
Nickel Acetate
20 grms of nickel oxide (black) is dissolved in Acetic acid and heated with stirring until the mixture turns pale green. The excess Acetic is drained off , the rest is dried and powdered.

What I want to know is whether this method works or not.
And how much acetic acid should be used per 20 grams of nickel oxide (black)?
And what is the temperature of the reaction mixture?
And should I wear protective equipment?
How many hours does it take in total?

For every 20 grams of nickel oxide you would need around 200-250 mL of acetic acid. Keep the reaction temperature at around 50-60C. The reaction time depends on multiple factors but you can test to see if the reaction is complete by adding a few drops of the reaction mixture to a sodium hydroxid solution if no precipitate is formed it is most likely done.
