In Kuala Lumpur, police discovered an ecstasy laboratory in two condominiums. During the raid, drugs and precursors worth more than $5 million were seized, and four people were arrested.

Malaysian police conducted raids on suspected drug labs on Sunday, May 29. Police managed to arrest four people, including three women from China. The suspects range in age from 48 to 56. The foreign women reportedly entered the country about five years ago with the help of social passes.

The director of the CID's drug squad said the condominiums were rented for about $600 a month each and turned into an ecstasy lab. The criminals are believed to have been operating since late last year.

In addition to drugs, precursors and lab equipment, the police also managed to seize two cars, cash, watches and jewellery in the raid.

The police said all those arrested tested negative for drugs and had no criminal record. They were remanded in custody for seven days to assist with investigations under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
