Is it practical to synthesis your own Mercuric and Palladium Chloride?

Hey y'all, been enjoying reading through all the synthesis posts and the first one I want to attempt is MDMA

Palladium and Mercuric Chloride where I live is expensive (thousands of dollars for 5 grams) you also need to have ID and have a legitimate reason to purchase it also need to provide certain documents.

In my circumstance could I just synthesis my own using nitric + hydrochloric acid and would it be good enough?

A YouTube called Nilered has a video about Mercury... It involves transforming Mercury metal into Mercury nitrate with nitric acid, then I think he gives heat and decomposes into Mercury oxide, then turns it into Mercury chloride with hydrochloric acid and he probably finishes with some sort of cleanup..

There is this fear of "over chlorinating" the palladium , via adding hot HCl (aq) to the palladium

Or it's palladium 4 chloride and not palladium 2 chloride

Or it has only only got to be palladium chloride, no other palladium salt will do the Wacker oxidation??
