Hello

I made some experiment. I used 2CB (powdered 2cb Hbr).

Part 1 of experiment

1. 2CB Hbr (2,7g) was grinded to small fraction in coffe grinder
2. 2,7g od 2CB Hbr was disolved in 100ml of warm water (about 40-50C)
3. About 8cm paintbrusch was used to put slite brown water on watercolor 360g/m2 A4 paper.
4. The proces took a while. I put water on paper, waited few minutes to dry, put next layer. Lest say it took about 30min.
5. Paper was ready to use next day. It was dry and i can feel that it was little bit more brown and not so flexible as before.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Part 2 of experiment

1. Paper was grinded on small fraction in coffe grinder
2. Paper was placed in 500ml glass chemical filter
3. 100 ml of warm water was placed in the filter. Clean nice water was collected.
4. Another 100 mg was placed one more time in filter and water was one more time collected.
5. I am sure that inside paper there was more or maybe the solvent used can be better - if You can sugest anythink please do it.
6. Collected 200ml of water was placed on glas flat container. I left it for 3-4 days.
7. Whan all water evaporated i could collect 2,1g of nice little yellow little brown cristals (clean 2cb hbr).
8. The cistals look nice, i tested them, working well, and it was tested - its 2CB.

I am sute that this method can be corrected, maybe better solvend made.

I am also sure that if i will keep the paper and grind it one more time and repeat water extraction there will be more 2CB Hbr.

This is an interesting effort, but why would you do this? It is a lot of work for a very small payload that could much easier just be hidden in mylar bags?

Yes it will. At these volumes this is a fun but pointless experiment. If you could get a much higher yield (only vendors/distributors care about reconstituting substances) then it could be useful, but at 2g on a piece of paper with a significant loss, any customs losses to mylar will far outweigh the guaranteed losses in production on this method.

It is very interesting. I want to offer you to shoot a video of how you do it and leave the product for 3-5 days. Leave the product for 14 days without checking the quality and quantity of the product. you have a very interesting and useful experiment.

It's beta testing. If you want t1So be serious about investigating a new process, the beginning is a smart place to start because if you try a process with 10 novel ideas, there are 10 variables to improve upon. 1 variable at a time. Don't let these guys discourage you.
1B. (For your experiment) when chemists do sn extraction, they do it 3 times at least, up to 10 times. There's a reason. Extract it and keep each separate to analyze the point of diminishing returns.
2B. Matching the pH of the water to substance improves extraction efficiency. It could be a 1/4 ts of bicarb or 2ml of lemon juice that could improve your process

You are, of course, correct.

When we stop asking questions and being curious, we stop innovating.

Just because I can't see a commercially practical application, doesn't mean there isn't a valid application for the method, or the method may uncover more of something hence unthought of.

Keep us honest @Frit Buchner
