Without a reference nobody knows what that is. With so many easy proven methods using easy to acquire chemicals and having good yields, I can't imagine why you would risk a non- method someone is probably tricking you with
I had to look it up. It is basically an acid base extraction, but they do acid then add salt to the filtrate before basifying.
The dude doesn't say in his tek, but MAYBE it makes the water even less likely to hold the freebase, making it easier to extract into the naphtha. But I don't know if that is the case, and it works so well without adding the salt.

Oh, I can extract deemsters in my sleep, it's so easy, I had never heard of it either, I was just letting the OP know if what I think they were using the salt for.
