dear members, I want to build a steam distillation equipment. IPA / free base / water to distil. I use p2np(1kg), Nabh4(1732g), cucl2 reagent, my aim is to produce A-oil. I read that I remove IPA using rotovap. it was recommended to use steam distillation afterwards, due to better yield. I would like to buy equipment for this. I am not aware of the names of the connectors. my request is the following: Please help a knowledgeable forum member, the exact names of the devices, connectors, racks. so that I can order.

2* 2 way distillation connector. this information was shared with me by a dear forum friend. I don't understand what chilling column means. how many pieces and what kind of connectors do I need? I decided on a heating mantle, do I need to buy two of these for the system to work? a heating mantle because I think the simplest solution is to keep it at 100 degrees for a long time. 2-neck round flask of the appropriate size for this. this is clear to me so far. I am not aware of the other tools for it. what kind of connectors are needed, if there is a picture of it, I would be very grateful. exact device names. thank you very much

No not necesary to use 2 mantles, you heat up the oil with the steam. You should connect an drip funnel between steam source and oil so you can get rid of condensed water, but it makes a higher cooling volume. I would use a high presure steam cleaner as a steam source.

I want to build a steam distillation system, I'm just stupid. I know there are many systems. I want to purify free base from water, IPA. to win oil. I want a user-friendly system for beginners. instead of an oil and water bath, a heating mantle is suitable, I know it is a more expensive solution. I would like a detailed list of products and devices, dimensions of connectors, pins, etc., so I can order. I will learn how to use it, but I should buy it first.

SO you doesnt need an extra sized Rbf wich is quiet more expensive and everything.
When you want to remove the IPA you can also use a more simpler vacuum destilation setup, works for me perfectly fine.
