Police and military forces in Colombia found and destroyed a large drug lab, where there were three tons of ready-to-ship cocaine. This was reported on April 16 by the president of the Colombia, Ivan Duque, in his Twitter.
The drug laboratory, which produced illicit substances in industrial quantities, was found in the city of Tibu. The total value of drugs seized was more than four million dollars.
Authorities also found more than 3,000 gallons of liquid starting materials and 4,900 kilograms of solid starting materials such as lime, caustic soda and other chemical precursors used to process the alkaloid, which had been destroyed.
Authorities also found tools and equipment such as hydraulic presses, compressors, microwave ovens and electric pumps, which were also destroyed.
It is clarified that the drug lab belonged to members of the left-wing rebel group National Liberation Army.
