An operation carried out by the Ecuadorian Police in Daule, in the province of Guayas, served for the arrest in the last hours of Rolando Federico Gómez Quinde, alias Fede, a High-value Target being considered the top ringleader of the Organized Armed Group Las Aguilas, one of the most important cocaine clans and other related crimes in the surroundings of the port city of Guayaquil. A few weeks ago, another high-level fugitive in the country, alias Carlitos, was arrested, in that case for sending 7,500 kilos of cocaine to Galicia.
The operation included the arrest of four other people as alleged members of the same organization, as well as the seizure of more than 760 kilos of cocaine, 1,400 cocaine capsules, a significant amount of long weapons, like rifles, as well as uniforms that would supplant those of the country's security forces, with the probable objective of being used to steal drugs from other criminal networks.
