Hi please help me i try convert 5449 to b oil and always low % finish yield.I did it in two ways: one with hydrochloric acid (1kg 5449 / 1l h20 / 1kg hcl ->70c 5h) and the other with phosphoric acid (1kg 5449 / 1.2l phosphoric acid / 0.5 h20 reflux 5h) . When using hcl, I get about 600 ml of thick oil which, after neutralizing it with naoh, gives about 300 ml of pure p2p and when using phosphoric acid, at the end I get 700ml of a very yellow oil that smells slightly p2p does not neutralize it because it is not thick and after Leuckart I get 200ml A-Oil of it, and I will add that the mixture does not foam as it should during the reaction with formamide Can someone tell me what could be wrong, whether it's mine or 5449's fault
