Hello guys, i want to synthesis MMC in ethyl acetate instead dcm.
1) how much ml per 1g?
2)can i do this without heating?
3) is there any other step in synthesis im ethyl acetate instead od dcm?

watch this video. The process of synthesizing 4mmc from 2b4mp is similar. But it is possible to slightly adjust the temperature and synthesis time depending on your reagents.

What difference is with 2b4m?

Iodine is the more active halogen and is better involved in the reaction. If no obvious signs of reaction are observed, heat the reaction mixture and increase the reaction time.
However, experience has shown that bromine is also very active, so this may not be necessary.

I did
100g 2b4m
300ml ethylacetate
200ml Methyamine 40% Aqua
No heating
20min reaction time

3times washing
Acidification in organic layer till ph6
Evaporate 1-2days
Then put icecold acetone, you get milk
Filter via Buchner, you get hcl
Dry
Wash again with acetone
Dry
Recrystallisation
Done

Did you know that you used 0.44 mol of 2-b-4-mp to 3.223 mol.of methylamine? That's a hell of an excess, 6.5x excess methylamine. Did you use a recipe or did you balance an equation? I'm just asking how you came up with these amounts. 6.5x excess could be the right amount I haven't looked but it seems crazy high

In every recipe i saw, there are always between 150-200g of methyamine been used per 100g Ketone

Do you suggest that for 100 2b4m,need only around 35 ml instead of 200ml?
