Advice on legal cover for small-scale synthesis

Hi, I'm new here. I'd like to get started in small scale synthesis, mostly to learn and enjoy my own production. As a beginner, I was thinking of going with synthesis from the "Simplest recipes" section with P2NP and then amphetamine.

I don't intend to make a profit, just synthesize enough for my own usage and my friends'. So I figured it could be interesting to have a legal cover in the form of a non-profit organization such as an "amateur chemist association" whose purpose would be to synthesize legal compounds with amateurs interested in learning chemistry. I believe this would make it easy to justify why I'm ordering some reagents or precursors (nitroethane or n-butylamine for example).

Do you think this is a good idea? Or is it better to create a dummy company? Or try to order as an invidual? I live in Europe (EU) if that helps. Thanks in advance for your advice!

Making soap and fragrances? Buy some non descript essential oils for some plausible deniability.

I would like you to re read this a few times to understand how non nonsensical it sounds. Non profit amateur chemist association which buys nitroethane.

Nitroethane is HOT. Nitroethane sales can be overseen by DEA even in other countries. Amateur chemist association or not, you need to keep these potential hot orders separate from one another.

The more you split your purchases, the safer it will be. If you are looking for a cover, the closest thing is cosmetics/personal care/perfumery production.

Is it as problematic to receive nitromethane?

No it is a common fuel additive and used in RC cars, though local restrictions may apply for you I’m not sure about your laws

That was a great idea although it appears it did not work I've tried all types of apothecary essential oil fragrances dies and you will get harassed eventually it's just one of those things

In the end I ordered a small quantity of nitroethane from a supplier online asking no questions about the intended use, and had it shipped to my address. I figured it's not illegal to possess per se, so at this point I'm not breaking any law that I know of. It was expensive though (100+ eur for 500ml); nitromethane seems a bit cheaper but I don't need it for now. Next I'll order n-butylamine and benzaldehyde, not sure if I'll order them together or not, but probably at a friend's address just in case.

I did something similar,I went a little overboard I believe though. I opened a research company. With a business license and all. It wasn't cheap,but peace of mind is priceless!
