Question Plants and mushrooms as a drug

I have been interested in plants and mushrooms for a long time, namely their composition. I don't want to make any synthetic/semi-synthetic drugs like MDMA or heroin.

I want to understand how to extract a certain substance from a certain plant, where to find out the composition of this plant and generally understand where to start?

I will also be grateful if you suggest any books on this topic.

I don't have equipment, but I can buy cones, beakers, funnels, hoses and a magnetic mixer.
