The difference between the microwave and stove is the stove heats the pan, which heats the water, which heats the reactants. I guess I should add. For the numerous people who will no doubt happen across this thread, everyone I know uses 30% w/w cocaine/sodium bicarbonate. Will 25% work? It has for me. 35%? It's worked before. A pinch or two? I've done it that way before. So why? 30%? I really don't know, that's the way I was taught. I calculated the stoichiometric amount once and what I got was 25% was the theoretical perfect amount, assuming you had pure cocaine ( it's impossible to figure for a mixture of unknown amounts of unknown products
