A-oil,methanol and sulfuric acid

Hello everyone, let me start by saying that I am not a chemist. Not long ago a friend showed me a method for making amphetamine. 100 ml of a-oil was taken and mixed with 180 ml of methanol, then a tenth of the oil was added, then 10 ml of sulfuric acid, which caused the reaction and then everything was left in the freezer for a day. But now in recent days someone told me that methanol is very toxic, and that it should be replaced. Does anyone know what I could replace it with following this method? The pH of the oil was 12, the pH of the final product was 8.

Any solvent you use is toxic, what you have to do is clean the paste of the methanol

Put your methanol in a freezer the night before you gonna make your product, dillute your sulfuric acid to 50% with water
Always measure your ph when making your product, and if you want dry product you can use an centrifuge

What’s the point of diluting sulphuric acid?

This is what I thought but as I am not an expert I just wanted clarify it and then respond.

You don’t burn your amphetamine oil, and your amphetamine paste stay white instead of pink!

Why not to dilute it with the solvent that gonna be used for ABE? I usually use ethanol and prepare 100mL acid mixed with 100-200mL ice cold ethanol. Amphetamine is easily dissolved in water so that’s not a good solvent for this purpose.

As I told you in your DM message, methanol is dangerous, can cause blindness and death (read Wiki about) if you won't dry it completely. It's worth to use IPA or acetone for that.
