I looked threw amazon and I want to share the list of lab products I've found to use for different uses.

Please feel free to give me advice on the equipment I want to buy.

My plan is to keep it small and cost effective.

1.Destillation kit
(vevor 1000ml distilling kit) with or without heating element?

2. Beaker, extra tubing, ducting

3. Funnel, test tubes, pipette, spatula, fans , bucket. filterwash bottles, ph test kit, clamps, tools.

4. Safety equipment (mask, gloves etc.)

5. Vacuum pump+ chamber

6. Magnet stirrer with heater: Onilab 280°

7. Water pump.

Thx in advance

If you're like me you'll just keep going and going. There are people here who don't have a single piece of glass. There are people with every piece you can Imagine. I started where you are starting and have so far added;
1. A cold trap or your pump will be full of water. It dies some other things too.
2. A Claisen adapter. I bought it because my rm was bumping into the condenser, but it's handy to have 2 ports in your boiling flask, for a funnel or a gas injector
3. 3-neck flask, react, reflux and distill without tearing down
4. Allihn condenser for reflux
5. A drying tube for several reasons
Calcium chloride, magnesium sulfate molecular sieve other drying slants
6.5. Crystallization pans, I got several Pyrex pie pans. There $3/PC or something
Extra kek clamps they break or get lost
Actually number 1.A Buckner funnel for real. It's a must have. I suggest one with the vacuum port on the funnel so you can use any flask.

That's just what I've done. I have a few other pieces I didn't mention, flat bottom flasks erlenmeyer set, test tubes. Clamps vacuum grease

Do yourself a favor and get a vevor overhead stirrer for 60E and pair with a mantle and/or a kitchen hotplate that can be used for a liquid bath.
If you are in Europe I recommend avoiding vevor glassware, they have a proprietary joint, I can recommend some solid glass vendors. If this is a long term thing you're planning might aswell go future proof.

Those Vevor 32pcs distillation kits you get on ebay are a bargain and IMHO a proper glass reflux/distillation kit and a vacuum pump + buchner are essential. You'll also want a magnetic stirring hotplate with proper temp control and a cheap submersible aquarium pump for your condensers.

Standard safety equipment, full face respirator, lab coat, gloves.

That's your essential equipment other than sundries like spatulas, glass rods, filter paper etc. Anything else really depends on what you're doing. No point buying soxhlet extractors or gas wash bottles unless you're doing something that requires them but you'll always be distilling at some point.

Thank you for mentioning the 32 piece kit! Seems too good to be true. Got one on the way. This will serve the same purpose for distillation and refluxing ? One should be able to improvise a buchner with a glass cutter and some trash. Submersible is easy enough to come by.
That leaves a stirring hotplate and vacuum pump which should be attainable for >$200.
So really, about $300 and now we're cookin'. Thank you again.

Yes, I mostly use the Allihn condenser for reflux or you can use the Vigreux for some applications. The Liebig and Graham condensers for distillation. Since you're probably new to this these PDFs are essential reading for a noob

The Vevor equipment is actually really good for the price point. I have that distillation kit, hasn't skipped a beat.

With all the rest you've mentioned is a great starter. The rest you'll acquire as needed. Best of luck.

I got a little update for my upcoming home lab.
So now the buchler funnel and flask arrived are ready to use with bleached fiterpaper.
I already got another beaker and magnetic stirrers.
I already got latex gloves from the cleaning department

I think the next big step will be the vevor extraction kit+ the heating and stirring element and the vacuum chamber.

Beside this I think I'll need some more beakers and safety equipment to start the 4mmc production

So I'm a bit confused now about what equipment I should get next for 4mmc synthesis?

First I thought I will need the extraction kit, but I've also seen doing the methylamine and toluene synthesis with only plastic pods. I also got a normal cooking hotplate.

So what would u suggest to get next? Are a few plastic pods and measuring cups plus a proper gas mask enough?

I prefer to purchase Vevor on their Poland website vevor.pl in PLN. Funny, but it is some cheaper than on eur.vevor.com in EUR.

I have seen ppl producing 4mmc only in plastic containers so not sure if the lab glass is really necessary beside for the purpose of drying acetone

There ain't a kit out there that is complete. I've never seen a kit with a cold trap. It might have 4 condensers but no cold trap. I haven't seen a pressure equalizing funnel in a kit either. Since you haven't bought it yet let's get yu straigtened out. Don't get a mantle it will only do 1 size flask. A plate can do any flask beakers erlymeyers. A plate is more versatile. I NEVER seen a kit with a water pump. You can distill without vacuum but not without a water pump. The hoses in those kits, junk. They run water to your condensers but they collapse under vacuum

Frit has got your back. 💪
It may be better for stealth purposes to buy everything piecemeal.
If one did decide to get a heating mantle, it would be best to get a larger one and then you can use smaller sized flasks in it by using a sand bath?

I wasn't thinking solely about glassware, I don't see too much risk in buying glassware. It's the thought of buying everything necessary for a synthesis all at once, with the same method, to the same address, etc. I don't mean to come off as overly paranoid, I am probably one of the most stupid and reckless. Just a suggestion, and reminder, be careful, stay safe.

You would shit if you knew what's came through my doors and out again. I do spread things out between local places and online but sitting on my stoop together has been some radical products
