Have I FINALLY done it?

So as I’m sure a few of you have gathered iv been trying the ketone catalysis of tryptophan to yield tryptamine but was having issues.
turns out I just couldn’t follow instructions because I was taking breaks, not making notes and forgetting where I was.
I’m pleased to say iv corrected these and I ended up with this….
What do we think? I wanted to do TLC but only have MASSIVE plates and I firstly wasn’t sure what chems I use to ‘develop’ said TLC plate but also would the huge size - I’m talking 20cmx10cm, cause any issues with the absorption of the droplet? Also I take it I just dissolve a tiny bit of it in water and then do the whole stretching a capillary tube to make a ‘micro-pipette’ to drop a drop onto the plate then wait for it to absorb into the silica before standing it upright and putting into the MASSIVE developing tank (or large mason jar) that I would use to develop it.
sorry if I’m using wrong terminology, I’m learning on the go but have come so far in just a few months.

I followed the write up on the rhodium archives that used the l-carvone in spearmint oil, only I swapped that out for cyclohexanone (from the ketone catalysed write up above). That was essentially it. I still have some of the ‘mother liquor’ so I may use it to see if I can decarb any more with it but tbf I doubt it - think I’ll probably just repeat the experiment if I need more. I need to scrape it up and weigh it out to see if it’s a reasonable assumption that it Is actually tryptamine. I mean I evaporated it out of water which was super annoying and slow - DCM would have been better but for some reason, it didn’t leave a layer so I’m guessing it is miscible with turpentine - rendering the above write up incorrect at the second half or recovery of said tryptamine. I doubt anyone will actually read or reply to this as I don’t have much experience on here but hey ho, it’s a massive success to me if it IS tryptamine. Iv gone from knowing only about extracting molecules from plant matter, to learning this process in approx 4 months.
I gave myself a year to learn but it turns out getting the knowledge is not the hard part! Getting the relevant reagents is!! Particularly as I want to now focus my attention on phenethylamines - I also just realised that I posted this in the wrong section (I’m really sorry mods, could you possibly move it to the tryptamine section?)
